PATRICK WELCH, DVM, DACVO, MBA
Chief Knowledge Officer
Dr. Patrick Welch is a graduate of Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. He completed an internship in medicine and surgery at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital in South Weymouth, MA and his residency in Comparative Ophthalmology at Iowa State University in Ames, IA. Dr. Welch has also completed his Master of Business Administration degree at Colorado State University.
In 2008, Dr. Welch joined IVG Hospitals as the Medical Director of Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital. Over his tenure with IVG, Dr. Welch has held a number of positions within the organization, including Director of Allied Veterinary Services and Director of Learning & Development. Most recently he has served at the Chief Learning Officer at IVG Hospitals.
In his role as CLO, Dr. Welch developed VetBloom, an online veterinary learning ecosystem. Rooted in the educational needs of the IVG network of hospitals, VetBloom has developed a variety of curricula, Continuing Education, and skill protocols that have effectively contributed to the growth and development of the IVG teams. Currently, his focus is on expanding VetBloom to the new organization as well as launching the platform externally to outside veterinary teams.
As the Chief Knowledge Officer, Dr. Welch is responsible for People & Organization, Learning & Development and Knowledge Management. Dr. Welch serves as the principle strategist and architect for developing a knowledge-based learning organization. He is responsible for facilitating and accelerating the learning, growth and engagement of individuals and teams throughout Ethos, aligning their development with organizational goals and effectively utilizing intellectual capital to generate revenue streams and gain strategic competitive advantage in the industry.
