Chris Ryan, VMD, DACVR

Dr. Ryan is originally from western New York, he grew up in the small town of Batavia, just outside of Rochester. He attended Cornell University for his undergraduate degree followed by veterinary school at University of Pennsylvania where he graduated in 2003. He then completed an equine internship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, KY followed by several years of practice as an ambulatory veterinarian with University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center.
Dr. Ryan then made the transition to small animal practice by first completing a small animal rotating internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey followed by his radiology residency at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Ryan’s clinical interests include magnetic resonance imaging of the nervous system, interventional radiology, computed tomography and abdominal and thoracic ultrasound. His research has included the evaluation of novel orthopedic implants with CT and the evaluation of various breed-specific neurologic disorders with MRI. More recently he has become enthusiastic about adapting and utilizing new technologies to help general practice veterinarians improve and maximize their imaging capabilities for their clients.
